Malaysia Business Group 6th Anniversary Celebration

The Malaysia Business Group (MBG) marked its 6th anniversary with a grand celebration at Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS) on 15 January 2025. MBG’s 6th anniversary celebrated the group’s growth and achievements over the past six years, recognising the collective efforts of the MBG council and its members in contributing to its success. It was a memorable evening of networking for all attendees, with numerous opportunities to connect and strengthen relationships.

Founded in 2019 by Mr Jimmy Ling, Group Managing Director of Linaco Group, MBG was formed with the vision of growing the community of Malaysian food and beverage manufacturers and positioning them as the most preferred and globally competitive trading partners to the rest of the world. From its humble beginnings of 20 members in 2019, MBG grown to over 150 members, covering 9 out of 13 states. MBG fosters synergistic collaboration among its members, encouraging them to leverage each other’s knowledge and experiences. Many companies have thrived under MBG, starting from having little knowledge of exporting their products to successfully navigating the global export market.

MBG actively engages with key government ministries and business associations, including the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), Invest Selangor Berhad, the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), and SME Bank. Through these collaborations, members gain access to critical information on market insights, emerging trends, F&B innovations, and more.

Additionally, MBG has connected with trade commissioners and ambassadors from various countries, ensuring members are equipped with the necessary information to navigate the global market effectively. MBG also works closely with event organisers to secure strategic locations for its members at local and international exhibitions, increasing members’ visibility and presence to a global audience.

MBG is a one-stop platform for Malaysian food and beverage products, facilitating connections between members and buyers or future business partners. All companies under MBG are Malaysian owned and are JAKIM halal certified to ensure compliance with halal standards. Many of the companies have also attained other food safety certifications such as HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 and more. Companies under MBG manufacture and supply a diverse range of food and beverage products, such as fruit concentrates, flavoured cordials, sauces and pastes, spices and seasonings, raw ingredients, snacks and confectionery. 

As MBG enters its sixth year, the group remains committed to positioning Malaysia as the leading global trading partner, bringing pride and glory to the nation. At the same time, MBG will continue to unite Malaysian export-oriented F&B companies, while also providing support and guidance to assist members in expanding their global presence.
